Uses:

In the plastics industry, 1,2-Epoxy-5-hexene is used as a raw material in the manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene. Additionally, 1,2-Epoxy-5-hexene can be used to manufacture a variety of resins and adhesives, including epoxy resins and polyurethanes. 

1,2-Epoxy-5-hexene is also used as an intermediate in synthesizing specialty chemicals and other compounds. For example, it can be used to produce polysulfides, which are compounds used to make rubber and plastic products more durable and resistant to heat, chemicals, and weathering. It can also be used to synthesize antioxidants and heat stabilizers, which are used to protect plastics and other materials from degradation due to exposure to heat, light, and other environmental factors.
