Uses:

DPH is a practical alternative to Nile red because it has a relatively low spectral overlap with other cellular components, such as mitochondria, making it easier to distinguish between different organelles. In addition, the fluorescence intensity of DPH is much higher than that of Nile red, allowing for much more sensitive and accurate detection of lipid droplets. 

DPH has been used in various studies to examine the structure and dynamics of lipid droplets in various cell types. For example, DPH has been used to measure the size of lipid droplets in different cell types and examine their shape and size distribution over time. Furthermore, DPH has been used to measure the number of lipid droplets present in a given cell type and to investigate how the size and distribution of lipid droplets changes in response to various stimuli.
